The APT Team has been on the road again, completing a 6-day Fluid Power training course on site at Springvale Colliery near Lithgow in NSW.

The course was split into two sessions of 3 days each, with a 2-week gap in between each session. Seven mechanical tradesmen completed the training, with the students being a mixture of tradesmen, supervisors leading hands – from the workshop, development, longwall and prep plant departments of the mine.

APT made use of their mobile practical workshop to deliver practical training sessions by locating the trailer in the onsite workshop, allowing all of the students to gain hands-on experience to reinforce the theory concepts contained in the training.

Students made comments throughout the training that topics and examples used during the training were directly related to incidents and issues that they had come up against in their normal work environment, and the circuits on the machines that they have on site.Springvale Students

These students are now in a prime position to continue on and complete the Certificate IV Engineering (Fluid Power) MEM40105.
